The Catamount Academic Tutoring (CAT) Center is designed to ensure the academic success of all WCU students by offering small-group tutoring and workshops to improve learning. The CAT Center offers tutoring for most 100 - and 200-level classes in subjects ranging from accounting to chemistry to Spanish. Students should sign up for appointments in advance by using the online scheduling system, by calling 227-2774, or by visiting the center in 30 Hunter Library (ground floor). Visit the website to find out more about workshop offerings in areas such as time management, note taking, goal setting, and test taking.

The Mathematics Tutoring Center (MTC) provides tutoring in all lower-division mathematics classes and computer science classes. Student peer tutors are available on a drop-in basis to provide assistance with homework, to review concepts, to help with math study skills, and to answer questions about math courses. Individual, regularly scheduled tutoring appointments are available. The Center also offers a workshop on "How to Survive a College Math Class." The Student Technology Assistance Center (STAC) is located in the Hunter Library student computer lab. The STAC's focus is still on the individual learning needs of the student, but now the help is available within the actual computer lab. Students who need help using word processing programs, spreadsheets, databases, electronic presentations, campus network tools (such as My Cat, WebCat, CLAWS, etc.), or the Internet (such as web browsers and searching the Internet), should contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance: 227-7487 or itshelp@email.wcu.edu.

The University Writing Center (UWC) offers one-on-one peer tutoring for writing across the curriculum. Graduate assistants interact collaboratively with clients to strengthen both the writer and the paper. Visit the Writing Center website to find helpful resources and other information.
