The recital on Sept. 14 will be held at 3 p.m. in the Highlands Presbyterian Church in Highlands. The second performance, on Sept. 16, will be held at 8 p.m. in the recital hall of WCU’s Coulter Building. Both events will be open to the public free of charge.

WCU’s School of Music faculty performers will include Bradley Martin, assistant professor; William Martin, assistant professor; Mary Kay Bauer, associate professor; and Robert Holquist, professor. Students who will be performing are Patrick Detloff, junior from Dallas, Texas; Heather Hallmark, graduate student from Burlington; Lance Newman, junior from Elkin; Ashley Setzer, senior from Hickory; and Christy Waymouth, senior from Huntersville.

Musical selections for the recitals include “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Old Man River” from “Showboat,” “When You Marry Me” by George Frideric Handel, “All I Ask of You” from “Phantom of the Opera,” “If I Loved You” from “Carousel,” and a medley of gospel tunes including "Onward Christian Soldiers," "Faith of Our Fathers" and "My Anchor Holds."
