Online Writing Resources

Welcome to our menu of writing resources. To find your way around, think about what tools you most need.

Here, we provide help with academic strategies such as improving your reading skills or taking useful notes in class.

We also offer specific assignment strategies, such as how to review a play, write a lab report, or compile an annotated bibliography.

Our research and documentation page has comprehensive information on plagiarism, research, and citation styles.

Writing in your academic discipline has its own standards and challenges. If your major is not listed, call or stop by the WaLC for more information.

If you’ve addressed all the big writing issues, consider those at the sentence level. Grammar mistakes can drive instructors crazy; the last thing you want to do is distract your reader!

Finally, we have a new page that deals with the special writing challenges faced by graduate students.  Be on the lookout for content about transitioning to graduate-level research, writing scholarly theses, and more.
