Michael Smith |
Smith, who teaches supply chain management courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level at WCU, recently conducted a two-day seminar titled “Strategic Leadership for Supply Management Professionals” in Toronto. The Nov. 27-28 seminar is part of a new strategic thrust undertaken by the Purchasing Management Association of Canada to better prepare that nation’s supply management professionals.
Smith is working with PMAC to help develop a new competency-based accreditation model that is focused on elevating the professionalism of supply management professionals as strategic leaders with a vital role in managing their companies’ supply networks.
In addition to the recent seminar, Smith will be featured as a presenter in April 2007 in Ottawa and as a pre-conference workshop presenter for PMAC’s National Conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario, in June 2007. He also is serving as a reviewer for new training materials that support PMAC’s redesigned professional certification program.
