Course-Related Instruction
Reference Librarians can provide customized instruction for your course or for a particular assignment.
Scheduling a session: Contact your subject liaison or the Coordinator of Information Literacy or fill out the online request form. Library sessions work best when they are designed to support a specific project or assignment(s). Faculty are expected to share information about the assignment and the course with the librarian before the session. English 101 instructors also have an online request form for submitting information about their class and assignments.
A request for an instruction session must be made at least one week before the session is needed. Scheduling of sessions is dependent on the availability of librarians and the library's electronic classroom.
Active participation by the course instructor is important; it helps students understand the connection between information literacy skills and their course content. Faculty should accompany their classes to the library sessions.
Subject Librarians - Your library subject liaison can assist in finding information, help design research assignments, help evaluate students' bibliographies, design handouts for your class, provide course-related instruction, and more.
Instruction at Remote Locations - The library actively supports Distance Education courses and programs. If you are involved in Distance Education and would like library instruction, you are welcome to contact your departmental liaison.
