The Great Life Series, a collaboration between Western Carolina University and Pardee Hospital, will offer a daytrip to WCU’s campus for a performance of the acclaimed romantic comedy “Almost Maine” and dinner on Sunday, April 26.
Participants will meet in the Belk parking lot near First Citizens Bank at the Blue Ridge Mall, 1600 Four Seasons’ Blvd. in Hendersonville from 12:30 to 12:45 p.m. and travel to the WCU campus for a 3 p.m. matinee performance.
Dinner on campus will follow. Participants will arrive back in Hendersonville at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Written by John Cariani, “Almost, Maine” is a series of eight scenes about people falling in and out of love during a showing of the northern lights in a town in rural Maine. Critics have called the play smart, funny and endearing, and The Wall Street Journal selected it as a best regional production of 2004-05.
Cost is $52 per person, which includes coach ride, theater ticket and dinner.
The Great Life Series is sponsored by First Citizen’s Bank; the Penny Insurance Agency; Chef Starr Food to Go; Van Winkle Law Firm; Dixon Hughes Certified Public Accountants and Advisers; Dixon Hughes Wealth Advisers; Alan L. Ward and David Grice, financial advisers, PIA Trust with Bank of America and Merrill Lynch.
Registration is available to adults of all ages at the Pardee Health Education Center at the Blue Ridge Mall or online at http://greatlife.wcu.edu/.
