Resources for Families: Financing Your Student's Education Parking & Transportation Visit Campus Where will my Student Live? |
Getting into college can be all consuming for students and their families. The realities of financing your students’ college education can sneak up on you. Be sure to investigate WCU’s Financial Aid website to learn how the university awards financial aid and the options available to your student. The Financial Aid website will give you detailed information on how to apply for aid, information on scholarships and other ‘free’ sources of funding. There are a variety of ways families can pay for their student’s tuition. Families also have the option to create a monthly payment plan. The College Foundation of North Carolina is another excellent resource for families. Also of importance to students and their families is the UNC system’s new tuition surcharge ruling. Beginning in the fall of 2010, the UNC General Assembly (Senate Bill 202 – Section 9.10b) increased the surcharge rate from 25% to 50% for undergraduate students who take more than 140 credit hours to complete their baccalaureate degree. |
