Welcome to the College of Education and Allied Professions at Western Carolina University!
It is with great pleasure and pride that we present overview information about our college, our faculty and staff, and our students. I hope that when you are finished looking through our Website, you will want to know more about us and our programs.
As Western was founded in 1889 as a teacher preparation institution, no one prepares teachers and other professional educators better. Our college does that and much more. Because of an emphasis on teaching and service in our college, we value you as an individual - both as a learner and, later, as a leader in your chosen field. We foster an atmosphere of openness and acceptance, and we encourage applicants of diverse backgrounds and cultures to seek us out for the preparation we can provide. We are small enough to know you as a person and not as a number. Yet, we are large enough to ensure that you will receive a quality education that will serve you well in your professional endeavors.
All of our programs have appropriate accreditation at the state and national levels. We have strong partnerships with our schools and other agencies in our region. Our college believes in the "Western Way" - going the extra mile literally and figuratively. If you would like more information, please come visit us or feel free to contact me or any of our faculty.
In closing, let me extend to you my sincerest thanks for considering the College of Education and Allied Professions at Western Carolina University!
