Melissa is a full time second year School Psychology student here at WCU. Her research interests include intergenerational parenting styles in women. She graduated from Belmont Abbey College in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology. Melissa is excited about making graduate school even more enjoyable for grad students with the GSA!
Vice-President- Nicole Allman
Nicole is a second year graduate student in Biology. Her research involves analyzing the diet of Carolina northern flying squirrels in habitats surrounding the Cherohala Skyway. Nicole received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology at the University of New Mexico in 2005. She is proud to be a student at Western Carolina University and cannot imagine doing her graduate work anywhere else.
Secretary-Amy Scheck
Amy is a full time 2nd year student studying Clinical Psychology. She graduated from Clemson University in 2005, and hopes to get a PhD in Child Clinical Psychology after getting her MA from WCU. Her research interests include Autism, childhood and adult trauma, and benefits of disclosure. In her spare time, Amy enjoys outdoor activities, snowboarding, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Treasurer- Brandon Waters
Brandon is a second year student in the experimental psychology master's program at Western. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2005 with a BS in psychology and a minor in chemistry. Currently, his research focuses on cognitive neuroscience, specifically brain electrophysiology associated with cognitive processes.
