Catamount GatewayWelcome to Western Carolina University! We are pleased that you will be attending the New Student Orientation program. The program is designed so that you will receive quality academic advising and become familiar with your new home-away-from-home.

Make a Deposit!  

Students must email a digital photo to the CatCard Office (catcard@wcu.edu) or mail a hard copy photo to WCU CatCard Office, 205 Killian Annex, Cullowhee, NC, 28723 one week before your scheduled orientation session so that you can pick up CatCards at check in. 

This orientation program will end following your advising session when you receive your class schedule.

What to Bring

*All students and on-campus guests are asked to bring:

Bed Linens (Extra-Long Twin) Small Fan Pillow
Towel Toiletries Comfortable Walking Shoes
Light Jacket Rain Gear Sound Machine

Where to Stay

All students attending orientation are required to stay on campus.  Each student will be paired with a roommate to as part of their introduction to student life.  Students will be placed in Scott Hall along with the Orientation Counselors. 

Registered Parents and Guests may opt to stay on campus at no additional charge.  Parents/Guests that opt to stay on campus will be placed in Blue Ridge Hall. 

If Parents and Guests would like to stay off campus, please contact the Chamber of Commerce (828-586-2155).
