Fall 2009

Western Carolina University conferred degrees on 641 students who completed their studies during fall semester 2009.

A total of 176 undergraduate students received academic honors, with 40 graduating summa cum laude (with highest honors), 67 graduating magna cum laude (with high honors), and 69 graduating cum laude (with honors).

Area students in the fall 2009 graduating class are listed on this Web site showing the student’s name, city of residence, state of residence, county of residence, type of degree received and major. Undergraduate honors also are shown, when applicable:

Students whose degrees were conferred after the summer or fall 2009 terms will be invited to participate in the spring commencement ceremonies. Alumni who received graduate degrees may participate on Friday, May 7, and alumni who received undergraduate degrees may take part in one of two ceremonies taking place Saturday, May 8.
