Living in Honors, many students start out in Balsam Hall, get their academic start with Honors courses or by signing Honors contracts or customizing their courses or majors, and then move ahead with funded undergraduate research or via the interdisciplinary Special Studies degree or Pre-Professional Programs.

Honors students also may choose to join The Honors College Board of Directors and, working with the dean, run their college in partnership with the off-campus Honors College Advisory Board. When they complete their studies, they wear the Honors Medallion and graduate with The Honors College Diploma.

WCU students rank sixth in the nation in the number of their research projects which were accepted for this year’s NCUR, which will be held March 29-31 at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. A total of 326 colleges and universities will be sending students to the conference. The Honors College oversees WCU’s participation in NCUR each year.
