WCU is a University of North Carolina Campus
Criminal Justice Program
Focused primarily on education rather than training, the Criminal Justice Program, one of the largest programs at WCU, offers you the option of enrolling in our residential program in Cullowhee or in the online program, which gives you the convenience and flexibility to pursue your studies from your own location.
Grounded in social and behavioral science theory and research, our curriculum will provide you with an informal and rational understanding of the criminal justice system and prepare you for a professional career or further study at the graduate level.
Through the program’s B.S. and minor offerings, you’ll learn how to develop skills necessary to cope with unknown future problems as well as how to deal with current situations.
WCU also offers related undergraduate and graduate programs:
- Clinical forensics minor (School of Health Sciences)
- Master of Public Affairs (MPA) degree with a concentration in criminal justice, available spring 2008 (Department of Political Science and Public Affairs)
- M.A.Ed. in college teaching, criminology concentration (Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations)Outside the classroom, you’ll find a variety of special opportunities available to you and peers that will help you expand your knowledge of the field of criminal justice and provide networking activities.
