Biography:
Dr. Hawley teaches Intro, Juvenile Justice/Delinquency, Violence in American Society, Criminal Justice Policy, and Theory though he has a special affection for juvenile delinquency-related issues and considers himself as an advocate for young people. His research interests include folk crime, the criminology of the South, film and criminology, drug use and abuse, and rural juvenile delinquency. He worked at WCU and in the LSU system as educator and department head for more than 25 years. He enjoys working on career development with his advisees and teaching.
