Biography:

Dr. Briggs earned her doctorate in philosophy with specializations in Crime and Delinquency and in Inequality from NC State University. She has field experience in law enforcement and probation and parole. She has taught at three major institutions including: University of Connecticut, North Carolina State University, and East Tennessee State University. 

Briggs has been the recipient of “outstanding teaching awards” and is a member of several national and international honor societies including: Alpha Kappa Delta, Alpha Phi Sigma, Pi Gamma Mu, and Gamma Sigma Delta. She also has been selected to the National Chancellor’s list and to the Cambridge Who’s Who of Professional Women.
