In the past LCE has brought in classical and ethnic dance ensembles, theatre groups, music (from classical, alternative, and ethnic to contemporary performances), political speakers, writers, comedy groups, art exhibits, and critics. The only fine arts series in this part of the state, LCE provides an important service to WCU and the community.

Committee members will be expected to attend an orientation meeting in the fall to discuss limitations and possibilities of the series and discuss ideas for the following year. Members will assist in researching acts and will make decisions about the schedule. In addition, members will be asked to attend and assist with the production and evaluation of events.
