Who am I?
I grew up in Newton, NC, in Catawba County. I studied psychology and Spanish in college. Getting involved is very important, and I did participate in a religious organization, the Rowing Club and many residence hall activities. After graduation, I fell into the field of admissions. My whole professional career has been working with high school students. It is very gratifying for me to help students and their parents in making college decisions.
Why Western?
As a native Tar Heel, I grew up hearing a lot about Western Carolina University: the beautiful campus, challenging academics, exciting sports programs, just to name a few highlights. After more than 21 years working in admissions at several colleges and universities around the U.S., a special opportunity arose to return to my home state, that is, to work in the Office of Admission at Western. I jumped at the chance to work at such a fine institution. Internships, unique academic courses of study, outstanding performing arts facilities, engaged faculty members, vibrant residence life experiences, and amazing student activities all come together to make Western Carolina a truly great university. I am proud to represent WCU!
