COUN 230 (Intro to Peer Tutoring)
COUN 230 is a one-hour class required of all new tutors. The purpose and objectives of the course are
- To promote the status of student peer tutors and provide a more consistent and valued preparation for students engaging in tutoring activity.
- To assist the learning and success of all WCU students by developing a competent, quality base of academic assistance.
- To assist faculty by preparing peer tutors to offer quality academic support outside of the classroom.
- To qualify tutors for Level 1 International Tutor Certification through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
